Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Why the ACC Medlink Team Is Wearing Pink
Every October, the country turns pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year, the ACC Medlink team is turning pink too, and for us it’s personal.
Why This October Means More to Our Team
One of our own is fighting breast cancer right now. Out of respect for their privacy we won’t share a name or details, but we will share this: they are not fighting alone. Every dispatcher, driver, medic, nurse and office team member at ACC Medlink stands behind them.
We spend our days getting patients safely to the care they need, often across many state lines. We see firsthand what a serious diagnosis asks of a patient and their family: the appointments, the travel, the waiting, the courage. When someone on our own team faces that, it reminds all of us why the work matters.
So this month, we’re showing up for them and for everyone else in the fight.
How ACC Medlink Supports Breast Cancer Awareness
- We stand with our team member. Our priority is simple: support them, respect their privacy, and make sure they feel the whole company in their corner through every step of treatment and recovery.
- We’re going pink. Through October, our website carries a pink awareness banner as a visible reminder to everyone who visits.
- We encourage early detection. We’re urging every member of our team, and their families, to talk with their doctors about screening. Early detection saves lives.
- We share trusted resources. Below you’ll find walks you can join and organizations that help patients, survivors and caregivers.
- We care for patients in treatment. Many people facing cancer need to travel for specialized care, or to get closer to family. When the trip is long, we’re here to help them make it safely and comfortably, with family welcome to ride along.

Join a Breast Cancer Walk Near You
Walks are one of the best ways to show support, raise money for research and patient care, and stand beside survivors in your own community. Many take place in October, and some run into the spring.
- American Cancer Society: Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks are held in communities across the country. Find an event near you, register a team, or donate.
- Susan G. Komen: MORE THAN PINK Walk events take place in cities nationwide. Search “MORE THAN PINK Walk” on komen.org to find yours.
- Can’t walk this year? Most events let you join a team virtually, sponsor a walker, or donate directly.
